One of the most important aspects of the Whole Life Challenge is the daily practice of recording your score. It's a chance to look back at your day and evaluate how you're doing.
Believe it or not, it's also one of the ways that the Challenge will keep your mind on what you've committed to doing each day.
There are a few aspects of scoring you might not be familiar with, so take a moment to find out how to manage this critical part of the game.
Entering your score on the site
You can enter your score on your desktop, smartphone browser, Android, or iPhone app.
Remember, you'll enter between 0 and 5 points for nutrition, indicating how many points out of 5 you kept for the day, and a "yes" or "no" for the remaining categories--exercise, mobilize, sleep, hydrate, and lifestyle practice.
Finally, you'll enter your Daily Reflection. We consider this the heart and soul of the Whole Life Challenge. It's your chance to close the circle for the day—look at what you learned, what you accomplished, which commitments you kept, and which ones you might not have. It's a great opportunity to be totally honest with yourself and a great way to get support from your team!
Remembering to log in
One of the most frustrating things can be to do everything the Challenge asks you to do and then forget to record your progress! Setting up daily reminders to enter your score is a great way to make sure you get all the credit you deserve.
- Setting the Whole Life Challenge as your web browser home page is a sure way to make sure you don't forget to visit the site every day.
- A daily alarm on your smartphone is another good practice for keeping daily logging in mind at whatever time of the day you think is best—especially on the weekends when you're less likely to be on the computer
- Make sure your time zone is set correctly and that you have the reminder email enabled in your privacy settings. That will send you a reminder four hours before scoring closes if you haven't entered your score yet.
Entering your score on time
It's important to remember that scoring opens each day at 7pm. You won't be able to record your score until 7pm, but you will have a full 29 hours, until midnight the following night, to complete your score entry for that day. If you're in bed before 7pm, you can still wake up in the morning and log your efforts.
Every now and then it happens—you forget to log in and record your score before the cutoff. Not to worry. We know you're only human. You'll have three "mulligans" to use over the eight weeks of the Challenge that will allow you to reopen scoring for a day you've missed.
Mulligans aren't permission to give yourself a perfect score, but they do allow you to reopen scoring for a day you missed the scoring window for. A mulligan can only re-open scoring for a day with no score at all, not edit a previously scored day, even if that score was only partially entered.
